BMW Group’s Plant Regensburg has reached a significant manufacturing milestone by launching its 100,000th totally electrical automobile of the year. The landmark automobile, a BMW iX1 in Blue Bay Lagoon metallic, is on its approach to La Réunion.

Since November 2022, the plant has been producing the BMW iX1, a premium compact electrical SUV, for international markets. Notably, greater than one-third of the autos produced at Regensburg in 2024 will likely be electrified—both plug-in hybrids or totally electrical.

The plant is on observe to considerably exceed its 2023 manufacturing of 238,301 autos, with forecasts pointing to greater than 330,000 models by the tip of the year. At present, more than 1,400 models of BMW X1 and X2 fashions, together with combustion engines, plug-in hybrids, and electrical variants, roll off the assembly line every day.
