Changan Nevo E07 First Show of The Versatile Transformer SUV
Changan Nevo E07, an innovative design that allows it to shift between SUV and pickup truck forms, has recently become a hot topic among car manufacturers. Released as a pioneering concept in 2022, this mid-to-large electric SUV features a 198.622-inch length and 78.583-inch width with a wheelbase of 122.83 inches for abundant interior space for both passengers and cargo. The Nevo E07 also features an air suspension that can adjust the height of the bike for different driving situations.
The Nevo E07 is laden with cutting-edge edge tech, Level 2+ autonomy, as well as an in-car satellite communication system, being the very first from any kind of car manufacturer. This, combined with a collection of sensors and the high-performance NVIDIA Orin-x chip, is what lets the Nevo E07 stay continuously connected and attentive to its surroundings.
The VELITE 7 — is designed to meet various driving demands with two variants: EREV (extended-range electric vehicle) and EV (pure electric). The EREV models can be had as either a single-motor or dual-motor powertrain with the aid of a 1.5T range extender (total all-electric range is up to 124 miles), and the gasoline engine supplements beyond that point.
However, the EV models are powered exclusively by batteries and are available in single- or dual-motor guise, with ranges between 342 miles and an impressive 620 miles. Drivers could presume to gain 365 km of range in a mere 15 minutes from the outlet thanks to an 800V high-voltage fast charging capability.
The inside of the Nevo E07 features a modern and simplistic cabin with a 28.86-inch AR-HUD system, while at the center is a large 15.4-inch central control screen that substitutes for the traditional instrumentation panel. Inside is a minimalist modern look with scroll buttons, a wireless charging pad, and two cupholders in the center console.
In China, presales of the Nevo E07 have already started, with prices starting at $35,400 for the EREV Max and going as high as $45,400 for the EV Ultra high-performance variant. The automaker plans to start mass production in October, with the first deliveries slated for the fourth quarter of 2024.
