BMW’s iX2 exempt from LCT and FBT

BMW Australia’s sales outlook will receive a significant boost next year with the introduction of two new, highly specified BEV models: the iX2 eDrive20 and iX2 xDrive30. Priced from $82,900 and $85,700 respectively, excluding on-road costs, these models offer financial benefits to buyers as they fall below the Luxury Car Tax (LCT) threshold for fuel-efficient vehicles.

Fleet buyers of these electric BMWs can also benefit from a Fringe Benefits Tax exemption. Additionally, several other high-spec BMW electric models, including the i4 eDrive35, iX3 M Sport, iX1 eDrive20, and iX1 xDrive30, are exempt from both taxes, expanding BMW’s low-tax BEV lineup to six models.

This expansion underscores BMW Australia’s commitment to future mobility by providing a diverse range of competitively priced, fully electric vehicles to its customers. With the arrival of the iX2 eDrive20 and iX2 xDrive30 next year, BMW Australia will offer 15 variants across seven fully electric models.

To sweeten the deal for buyers, BMW Financial Services offers compelling finance offers, including the Full Circle product integrating Guaranteed Future Value (GFV), providing owners with the flexibility to return their vehicle at the end of the loan period with upfront knowledge of its value.

With sales volume projections indicating that by next year, at least one in five of BMW Group’s new vehicles should have a fully electric drivetrain, BMW aims to have more than two million fully electric vehicles on the road by the end of 2025.

The iX2 eDrive20 features a front-mounted drive unit generating a system output of 150kW, with a high-voltage battery enabling a range of up to 477km WLTP. On the other hand, the iX2 xDrive30 boasts highly integrated drive units, delivering a system output of 230kW and accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in 5.6 seconds.

Both iX2 variants offer advanced features, including adaptive LED headlights, adaptive M Suspension, automatic tailgate, Live Cockpit Pro, and a comprehensive safety package.

Details of the iX2 eDrive20 package will be announced closer to its local launch next year, while the iX2 xDrive30 comes with a Flexible Fast Charger for convenient home charging and a Mode 3 charging cable.
